none commercially, they were all made for personal household use or as it was a
tradition for dowry pieces therefore each rug is as unique heirloom as their
weavers...
These hand woven treasures mark an important period of historical time
when the Armenian culture was uninfluenced by the later ruling soviet
regime...

Most likely a dowry rug, woven by the bride to be, signed by
her. A very unusual, charming rug with repeated designs of
parrots on branches on a Madder red field. Stylized grape
vine design border. Artistically drawn and masterfully
woven.

very same weaver or her daughter..? It is woven in the same
traditional manner, same type of border and design format
only on this one the parrots are replaced with bouquets of
roses... See how they compliment each other, I think these
two belong to each other...

An elongated, mirror image of a Sevan/Shield Kazak design,
Some call it a "church floor plan". A very
powerful rug yet charming and naiv with strong character.
